AI for Mobile Development
Building Mobile Apps with Claude Code
Add a feature to an existing mobile project with Claude Code. Use a clear brief, project instructions, error scenarios and device checks to assess the result.

Claude and Claude Code are different layers
Claude is a model family. Claude Code is a development tool that can read and edit project files and run commands. A useful mobile task goes beyond drawing a screen: it completes a small feature that works with the app’s existing data flow.
Add search to an existing list
Example brief: Add name search to the current item list. Explain case handling, show all items for an empty query and provide a clear no-results state. Preserve the existing data access and run the relevant checks.
Record run commands, folder conventions and dependency constraints in the project instructions. Claude Code’s CLAUDE.md file can carry these decisions. This example describes a learning exercise, not measured productivity gains.
Actual AlbaPin store images illustrate a mobile interface. They do not imply that AlbaPin was developed with the tools discussed here.
How to check the result
- Do accented characters, spaces and long queries behave as expected?
- Are results and the clear button usable with the keyboard open?
- Is a network failure distinguished from a genuine empty result?
Keep the change small enough to review
Replacing the list, data layer and navigation together makes review harder. Complete the search behaviour first. If a device is unavailable or a test command cannot run, record that limitation rather than treating the agent’s explanation as test evidence.

Frequently asked questions
Does Claude Code automatically test both iOS and Android?
It can only use tools that are available and configured. A flow that was not actually run on a simulator, emulator or device should not be reported as tested.
