Compare like-for-like scopes
A short prototype with one character is a different project from a story-led game with many levels and accounts. Define the platform, core mechanic, artwork quality and first-release content before requesting a quote. Unspecified requirements can become additional work later.
Use example work packages
Discuss three possible scopes: a single-mechanic prototype; a first product with original characters and limited levels; or a broader game with servers and ongoing content. These are scope examples, not priced packages. List art, development, testing and release tasks separately.

Ask what is outside the quote
Clarify voice work, translations, store-account charges, hosting, analytics and maintenance. A useful proposal states its assumptions and revision boundaries. SourSpark defines the budget after the brief and deliverables have been agreed, rather than promising a universal price.
