Writing a story for a character adventure game
Build a short game narrative around a character’s goal, playable missions and level endings. Connect the story to what the player actually does.

What does the story ask the player to do?
Give the character a purpose, an obstacle and an action the player controls. A character searching for a lost object might solve small puzzles to reach new areas. This is an example premise, rather than a summary of a completed client project.
Give each level a small narrative job
The opening level teaches the control; the next tests the same action under a new condition. Dialogue, scenery and objectives should reinforce one another. Character reactions or visual clues can replace lengthy text when that suits the intended audience.

Deliver a playable story flow
Map the story summary, level goals, required animations and scene changes in one flow. Try one level before expanding the script to check whether the story is understood. AntSort assets shown here are our own development examples of character and environment design.
