Read the level goal first

Check the requested numbers and missions before planning your move. Start a chain with two equal numbers, then look for neighbouring numbers with the same value or twice that value. If the board allows it, try a chain such as 2 → 2 → 4 → 8. Remember to check diagonal neighbours too.

Balance chain length with the mission

Look beyond the length of a chain and keep the level’s requested numbers in mind. Long chains can earn rocket tiles. If you get stuck, study the board again; gold-powered hints and tools are also available in the game. Your goal is to complete that level’s missions.

Example move: 2 → 2 → 4 → 8

Find two neighbouring 2s, including diagonals. If the board allows it, continue to a neighbouring 4 and then an 8. You cannot start with just 2 → 4: the first two numbers must match. This illustrates a connection; keep the level’s requested numbers and missions in mind too.

Questions about Number Merge

How do I start a number chain?

Connect two equal numbers first. Each next neighbouring number can have the same value or twice the previous value. Diagonal neighbours can also join the chain.
